Typical Course Program: To be confirmed
Evening 1: Introduction to the CM, IM and CS examinations. Examiners will talk about the marking procedure, general tips and time management
Evening 2: Section 1 of a past paper to demonstrate sustainable design credentials will be attempted by groups of candidates with assistance from the course leaders
Evening 3:A number of structural details required in past papers will be attempted and discussed with the leader
Evening 4: Section 2 of a past paper including both design and carbon calculations will be attempted by groups of candidates with assistance from the course leader
Evening 5:A mock two-hour test will be set with a choice of two building structures and one bridge
All course leaders and helpers are experienced practising Structural Engineers drawn from the Surrey Region membership.
You will not need any special equipment but please bring pens, notepaper and a calculator.
It will be useful to have your reference files filled in with extracts of any specific design guides, codes, load-span tables, material properties, etc.
A pad of graph paper will be useful for sketching.
